• The Therapeutic Recreation Technician reports to the Recreational Therapy Director and is responsible for performing recreational therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (TRS) or Master Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (MTRS).
• Providing socialization and physical activities such as games, sports, and exercises that develop and maintain strength, coordination, and range of motion.
• Implementing activities for the social, emotional, physical, and other therapeutic needs of the residents.
• Providing mind-stimulating activities such as puzzles, word searches, and crosswords.
• Assisting in resident care planning by identifying the activity needs of residents.
• Conducting resident activity histories and assessments upon resident entry as required by state and federal standards.
• Encouraging residents to participate in planned and non-planned activities.
• Identifying residents who may be at risk for social isolation and implementing plans to ensure their individual social well-being.
• Coordinating recreational activities, including volunteer and auxiliary activities.
• Demonstrating the ability to embrace and project the values of the facility: compassion, positivity, respectful communication, responsibility, trust, community, safety, respect, teamwork, partnership, service, integrity, efficiency, and financial responsibility.

Pay: $16 - $18 (dependent on experience)

• Must hold a current Therapeutic Recreation Technician (TRT) license in the state of Utah.
• Possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Completion of an approved educational course in therapeutic recreation or six to nine semester/quarter hours of study in therapeutic recreation.
• Completion of an approved practicum.
• Must be cheerful and helpful.
• Experience with geriatric patients is preferred.
