Responsibilities
Center for Change is seeking a part‑time female care technician to assist clinical and nursing staff in providing secure, safe, and supportive treatment to inpatients suffering from an eating disorder.
Center for Change is a 24‑hour healthcare facility with full‑time and part‑time staff who cover regularly scheduled shifts. This is an excellent entry‑level position for individuals who would like to gain experience in the mental‑health field. Hours range from a minimum of 8 to up to 40 hours per week, averaging 16–24 hours per week.
Current positions available include weekend shifts. All Behavioral Health Techs are required to work some weekend shifts or be on‑call. Weekend shifts occur Friday 2:00 pm–Monday 6:00 am. On‑call staff may be called to fill shifts 6:00 am–2:00 pm; 2:00 pm–10:00 pm; 6:00 pm–2:00 am; or 10:00 pm–6:00 am, depending on staffing needs.

Detailed Responsibilities- Care techs work closely with patients at the Center, providing daily support and assistance with activities of daily living and mentoring healthy attitudes and behaviors.
- Care techs eat meals and snacks with the patients to model an intuitive relationship with food, and monitor patients during these times.
- Care techs join in experiential therapies and groups such as recreational therapy, movement therapies, art therapy, music therapy, body‑image therapy, and 12‑step group.
- Care techs work directly with patients in goal setting and follow‑up, enforce program rules, and encourage patients to find their own coping skills.
- Due to the nature of treatment and the population served, the applicant must be female.
- Care techs transport patients using company vehicles and must consent to a driving record check. Requirements: at least 21 years of age, valid driver’s license, no more than two at‑fault accidents in the past three years, no more than three moving violations in the past three years, and no DWI or DUI convictions.
- Because the Center specializes in the treatment of eating disorders, staff are required to eat with patients and model a healthy relationship with food. They will eat all food groups: meats, poultry, fish, fruits, dairy, desserts, etc.
Wage
:
Base wage is $16.00/hr without a bachelor’s degree; $17.00/hr with a bachelor’s degree. A shift differential is paid for evenings, weekends, and graveyard shifts.
Tuition reimbursement may be available, but not guaranteed, for full‑time employees.
