Track and Field Head Coach

$1,800 Season Stipend

Telos Academy's head track coach instructs and trains students in preparation for track meets. The coach works directly with the academic team to instruct, evaluate, encourage, monitor, and record the progress of individual students, devising and adapting resources to suit specific learning styles and needs.

$1,800 Season Stipend

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Instructs, teaches, and guides students during practice.
  • Monitors student progress by training, providing appropriate feedback, and maintaining records of each student’s progress and development.
  • Meets with students to conference, process daily work, and check grades/Powerschool.
  • Coordinates and reports students’ progress to teachers and academic advisors.
  • Manages pupil behavior in the classroom and community in conjunction with Telos trained teachers and mentors.
  • Reports progress on individual student assistance as necessary.
  • Creates an athletic working environment for students.
  • Helps create progress reports once monthly.
  • Selects and uses a range of different learning resources and equipment guided by the teacher.
  • Completes residential certifications and classes such as CPR, First Aid, Processing Training, TB Tests, Restraint Training, etc.
Requirements Qualifications
  • A basic understanding of the disorders Telos treats or a willingness to learn about these disorders.
  • A love of physical activity and training.
  • Ability to direct the class.
  • Ability to hold and maintain discipline within the academic setting.
  • Flexibility.
  • A love of working with and teaching adolescents.
  • A desire to be a team player.
