Nursing Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Courseware Development

MyEducator is seeking an experienced Nursing Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the development of digital nursing courseware used by university programs. This role has a strong emphasis on writing and content creation, with a focus on translating nursing knowledge and clinical judgment into clear, structured instructional materials for online courses. This is a contract role with an expected part-time time commitment initially, with the potential for increased involvement over time.

• Writing original instructional text for digital nursing courses
• Organizing content into clear chapters, sections, and learning objectives
• Translating nursing concepts and clinical reasoning into accessible written explanations
• Writing and reviewing assessment items, including
• Reviewing and refining short video scripts to ensure clarity, accuracy, and instructional focus
• Helping determine what content is essential versus optional to support learning outcomes
• Ensuring all written materials reflect realistic nursing practice and sound clinical judgment

The role does not involve providing clinical care, supervising clinical hours, managing labs, or handling accreditation requirements.

• Experience teaching nursing at the ADN or BSN level (full-time or adjunct), and/or
• Significant clinical nursing experience paired with demonstrated writing or educational work
• Comfort writing clear, structured instructional content for learners
• Familiarity with NCLEX concepts and clinical judgment expectations
• Interest in digital learning and modern courseware formats
• Prior experience writing educational content, assessment items, or NCLEX/NGN-style questions
