Student - Instructional Assistant - Exercise Science

The UVU Exercise Science Department is looking for a Student Instructional Assistant for EXSC 2500. The class meets on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:00 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. and on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.

• Assist in conducting and managing laboratory activities related to sports medicine.
• Provide support during in-class activities, including splinting, taping, modalities, monitoring vitals, instructional support, etc.
• Help students understand and execute test protocols accurately and safely.
• Engage in objective grading of assignments and laboratory practical assessments.
• Conduct meetings with students to assist them in completing their final projects, offering guidance, and clarifying course material as needed.
• Collaborate with the course instructor to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive learning experience.
• Ensure adherence to safety guidelines and ethical standards in the laboratory.

• Must be a current UVU Student
• The student must have completed the UVU course ESXC 2500.
• Strong foundation in sports medicine testing and principles
• Previous experience in a laboratory setting, particularly with the equipment used throughout sports medicine, is highly desirable
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with students.
• Commitment to fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff members.
