Assist the driver in unloading products at customer locations according to customer invoices, Preferred Work Methods, and company policies.

• CDL PERMIT REQUIRED – MUST HAVE TO BE CONSIDERED

• Unload product according to customer specifications and SYGMA delivery procedures at customer locations.
• Develop and establish good relationships with customers by providing excellent, courteous service.
• Learn route on current bid.
• Assist in all aspects of route paperwork.
• Work safely by following SYGMA’s Preferred Work Methods.
• Other duties as assigned by Management.
• Attend CDL School when scheduled.

• Assist the driver in the pre‑trip and coupling of equipment to ensure the vehicle is safe to operate and that tandems are properly locked out to meet weight requirements.
• Assist with routing, map reading, and providing directions on the route, including issues with low clearances.
• Assist with delivery set up at the customer location, ensuring all compartments of the trailer are correctly positioned.
• Assist driver in backing situations by observing hazards and communicating with hand signals or verbal communication.

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience. Previous food distribution and frozen food handling preferred. Must read and write clearly.

• Work is medium to heavy in nature. Requires climbing into trailer, lifting 50‑lb boxes frequently, and occasionally lifting up to 75‑lb boxes. Must read, speak, and understand English sufficient for general public communication, highway signage, and official inquiries.

• Read at close and arm’s length, with or without correction. May be required to direct driver through hand signals or verbal communication.

• Activities occur both inside (weather protection) and outside. Position is subject to various roads, mechanical, and electrical hazards.

• A two‑wheeled dolly, pallet jack.

• A valid driver’s license.
• CDL‑A permit.
