Delivery Specialist

Overview

Delivery Specialist role at O'Reilly Auto Parts. The position involves maintaining and operating store vehicles to deliver parts and/or products to professional customers in a safe and efficient manner, collecting money on COD deliveries, and handling customer returns. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

• Operate company vehicles to deliver parts and products to customers in a safe and efficient manner.
• Use delivery fleet management hand-held devices to process deliveries, capture customer signatures, update vehicle mileage, and complete daily vehicle inspections.
• Keep vehicles clean, maintained, and perform daily vehicle inspections prior to operation.
• Keep delivery vehicles, keys, fuel/fleet credit cards, hand-held devices, and monies collected secure at all times.
• Pick up customer returns (new, warranty, cores, etc.) and fill out driver return slip.
• Communicate any problems or special needs from customers to store management.
• Report vehicle maintenance needs, accidents, or vehicle damage to the store manager immediately.
• Ensure fuel tank is filled and lock and secure vehicle at end of day’s business.
• Clock in/out according to company policy.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including customer service, stocking, merchandising, and related tasks.
• May occasionally assist customers, serve as a cashier, and/or help with merchandising tasks when business dictates.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Required:
  • Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to changing delivery situations.
  • Driving record must meet the standard in the company’s 14/18-point system.
  • Legally required state driver’s license and driving eligibility as determined by company policy.
• Desired:
  • Familiar with automotive parts.
  • Ability to operate other light store equipment.
  • Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired).
