Facilities Maintenance Technician – CL
The City of Portland is recruiting a Facilities Maintenance Technician to serve the Parks & Recreation and Environmental Services bureaus. This is a regular, full‑time position with summer work possible. Strong mechanical and safety skills are required. Legal, EEO, and ADA statements are included as required.
Responsibilities- Inspect, diagnose, service, and troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural systems.
- Respond to urgent equipment failures and restore operations quickly.
- Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled repairs on interior and exterior hardware.
- Assist in training apprentices and provide guidance on maintenance schedules.
- Use mobile devices to monitor equipment and manage maintenance records.
Optional certifications that may strengthen an application (not required): refrigerant 608, Class Three boilers license, backflow assembly, confined space entry, brazing.
BenefitsBenefits are available for this position. Language Pay Premium and union representation (LiUNA Laborers’ Local 483 and Portland City Laborers) is applicable. The position is eligible for the Language Pay Differential for qualifying employees.
