Job DescriptionPosition is responsible for product merchandising within large volume stores (grocery, etc.). Duties include stocking shelves, rotating shelved product, setting up displays, stocking and rotating products in coolers, organizing and rotating products in storage rooms, and moving products from storage to the sales floor. The role is labor‑intensive, requiring lifting, loading, pushing, and pulling cases weighing 20–45 pounds, as well as bending, reaching, and squatting while merchandising and moving products.
The schedule is consistent with specific start times and customers, with opportunities for varied shifts.
- Merchandise store shelving, coolers, and displays with products in assigned accounts.
- Rotate products in the backroom and on the shelf.
- Transport products to and from backroom to shelf location.
- Use equipment such as U‑boats, hand trucks, and pallet jacks to transport products.
- Display promotional material such as signs and banners in accounts.
- Maintain a neat and orderly back‑room stock area.
- Communicate store issues to store managers and Pepsi Co management.
- Build customer relationships at the store level.
- Comply with operating procedures (e.g., scan‑in/scan‑out, following designated route).
- Serve accounts during designated times established by management.
- Deliver customer service (communication, rapport building, attentiveness to customer needs).
- Operate with minimal supervision (self‑managed role).
- Use handheld devices to write and input orders.
- Maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
- 18 years or older.
- Pass the physical capabilities test (if applicable).
- Must have personal transportation (car) to access multi‑store locations within assigned shift.
- Valid U.S. Driver's License.
- Proof of insurance.
- Experience working in a retail or grocery store, understanding store operations, back‑room, and inventory.
- Experience moving products within a store using equipment such as U‑boats, hand trucks, and dollies.
- Experience merchandising products: filling shelves, building displays, rotating product stock, cleaning shelves, eliminating out‑of‑stock and out‑of‑date items.
- Experience managing backroom/stock room inventory: organizing pallets, stacking, and storing inventory.
- Experience serving customers, handling complaints, and responding to customer requests.
