Located in Oregon, Wisconsin, just south of Madison, our hospital proudly serves a community that blends small-town charm with rich history, outdoor recreation, and a strong sense of connection. With easy access to Madison’s dining, culture, and career opportunities, this is an ideal place to grow your veterinary career while making a meaningful impact.

We are looking for a compassionate and motivated Veterinary Assistant to join our team and bring skill, kindness, and hustle to every exam room, surgery prep, and tail wag.

Why You'll Love Us

  • Heart-Led Medicine - We’re a full-service hospital offering wellness care, surgery, and advanced diagnostics, all delivered with empathy, excellence, and teamwork.
  • Rooted in Relationships - Our strong ties to the Oregon community reflect the trust we’ve built with generations of pet parents who know we treat every pet like our own.
  • Culture of Growth & Support - We value collaboration, kindness, and continuous learning. Whether you’re early in your career or ready to take the next step, you’ll find support and opportunity here.
What You'll Be Doing

  • Safely restraining patients, assisting with exams and procedures, and providing daily husbandry (feeding, walking, cleaning, and monitoring).
  • Helping with diagnostics, including blood collection, catheter placement, and radiographs.
  • Preparing medications and helping educate pet owners on treatment plans.
  • Acting as a communication link between doctors and nurses while supporting the medical team wherever needed.
  • Maintaining accurate records and becoming confident with veterinary software and terminology.
  • Keeping work spaces clean, organized, and aligned with safety protocols.
You’re a good fit for this role if you:

  • Love animals and want to make a difference in their care and comfort
  • Are positive, dependable, and ready to jump in and help
  • Communicate clearly and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Value a clean, organized space and take pride in the details
  • Are eager to learn, grow, and be part of a clinic that values your voice
What's In It For You

  • Competitive pay, based on experience
  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance (some plans include free outpatient mental health care)
  • Generous CE allowance + paid CE time
  • Uniform allowance
  • Pet care discounts for your personal pets
  • PTO, floating holidays, parental leave, and military leave
  • A robust Employee Assistance Program (from finances to wellness and everything in between)
  • Access to Encore Vet Group’s library of training, CE, and career development resources
  • A 401(k) with up to 5% company match
