RN CLINIC II
Location:
Fort Loudoun Orthopedics – Covenant Health
Employment Type:
Full‑time, 80 hours per pay period, day shift.
Summary:
Provides professional nursing care within an outpatient clinic setting and coordinates care planning with other disciplines as appropriate.
- Adheres to established departmental policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, and safety standards.
- Precepts new employees/students as needed, reviewing their clinical performance with the office manager or clinical instructor/supervisor.
- Cooperates with other personnel to achieve department objectives and maintain good employee relations, interdepartmental objectives, and infection control policies.
- Prepares patients for scheduled procedures and assists in patient assessment;സ്ഥaccurately records history and performs basic triage procedures per policy.
- Creates nursing history after retrieving patient condition and discusses recommendations for appropriate interventions with the practitioner.
- Resolves complex patient/management/physician problems without direct supervision, using clinical expertise and knowledge.
- Demonstrates sensitivity to patient comfort and privacy by applying the AIDET fundamentals of communication.
- Assists providers with examinations, procedures, and other processes related to direct patient care.
- Maintains a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and families during their visit.
- Monitors and ensures accuracy of recording on patient medical records; maintains all required reports, records, and statistics.
- Ensures adequate stock of supplies and well‑maintained equipment.
- Inspects the area وغaily for compliance with policies, procedures, regulations, and standards, taking corrective action when violations occur.
- Schedules all outside patient appointments per physician order and relays accurate information to patients.
- Takes calls from hospitals and nursing homes and relays appropriate information to the practitioner in a timely manner.
- Ensures test results are received and relayed to the patient promptly.
- Completes medical orientation checklist.
- Initiates appropriate patient education.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members.
- Implements care appropriate to diagnosis and per physician order.
- Problem‑solves and coordinates clinic patient care with physician supervision.
- Demonstrates competence in performing skills, including appropriate delivery of care according to the age‑specific needs of the population served.
- Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to stay abreast of latest trends in the field of expertise.
- Collaborates with the patient, physician, and other care team members as-able part of a team‑based approach to overall patient care.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
- Minimum Education:
None specified; must be sufficient to meet the standards for achieving the required license and/or certification. - Minimum Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years of professional nursing experience. - Licensure:
Must have a valid Tennessee RN license. CPR, OSHA training annually.
