The Bike Barn Manager is responsible for the overall successful operation of the Bike Barn. The Bike Barn Manager provides leadership, guidance and supervision to the Bike Barn staff. S/he will assist in maintaining the AAA Four Diamond Standards.

The Bike Barn Manager shall strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times. S/he will be responsible for exemplifying the Sunriver Resort Culture as well as promoting Sunriver Resort as both the Destination and Employer of Choice!

Responsibilities
  • Performs all functions of the bike rental process; cashier, bike selection and informs guests of safe handling of bikes
  • Provides general resort information to guests and up sells other resort services and amenities to guests
  • Provides prompt follow-up to all guest concerns
  • Responsible for development, implementation and coordination of bike-based activities to maximize guest service and profitability
  • Provides overall direction and coordination of bike tours
  • Responsible for management of rental fleet inventory
  • Orders within budgeted guidelines; bicycle fleet, trailers, and equipment and creates record keeping system to assure quantity and quality needs
  • Maintains rental fleet in good working condition
  • Performs repairs on bikes as needed and does routine maintenance to ensure safety of the fleet
  • Ensures facilities are operated safely, efficiently and professionally at all times
  • Monitors shop and equipment on a regular basis to ensure that rental equipment, facility and grounds are secure and in the best condition possible, and safe for use by guests and staff
  • Maintains constant awareness of safety issues, (i.e. broken glass, frayed electrical cords, leaks, broken locks and suspicious persons). Files appropriate reports for all safety incidents
  • With the assistance of the Director of Retail and Recreation; prepares, monitors, and controls budget of expenditures and projected revenues
  • Responsible for the achievement of department goals and objectives
  • Works with HR to recruit and hire staff, attends hiring fairs
  • Completes all new hire, termination paperwork and performance appraisals
  • Utilizes labor management tools to schedule and control labor costs
  • Responsible for the coaching and counseling of team members
  • Recommends discipline and/or termination when appropriate
  • Supervises the performance, attendance, attitudes, appearance and conduct of Bike Barn team and maintains a strong morale and spirit throughout team while empowering them to exceed service standards
  • With the assistance of Director of Retail and Recreation, designs and implements training programs
  • Prepares and conducts staff meetings on a regular schedule
  • Attends appropriate resort, division and department meetings including monthly safety trainings
  • With the assistance of Director of Retail and Recreation, create and develop resort recreational activities and programs and source needed supplies
  • Facilitate resort recreational activities with proper staffing levels to ensure safety of guests
  • Interacts with resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments as necessary
  • Acts with responsibility towards all company property, supplies and equipment.
  • Maintains a professional appearance. Follows all Sunriver Resort dress code standards
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • At least two years supervisory experience required
  • At least three years of rental business experience required, preferably with bikes
  • Prior hospitality experience preferred
  • Must be CPR and First Aid certified, or willing to obtain certification once hired
  • Must be open to travel for bike mechanic certification course, if not currently certified
  • Must have valid Oregon drivers license and meet company driving standards
