About the job Technical Product Manager Level 3

Technical Product Manager Level 3
Importance:
High

Description:

The Technical Product Manager (TPM) primarily owns and drives platform products through vision, design, requirements, and delivery. This includes driving the strategy for platform domains, setting objectives and key results (OKRs), and ensuring their successful completion. The TPM will facilitate a larger cross-functional team to solve business problems. The TPM should be able to work with significant autonomy and freedom, requiring little oversight, but within a broader strategy set by executive leadership.

The TPM will demonstrate the companys core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

There are 5 technology Tracks defined for KAP. Each TPM is responsible for a Track. The Tracks are:

  • Development – All tools and processes developers use to develop, test, and deploy applications.
  • Platform – Tools and processes where applications run (e.g., cloud, on-prem).
  • Operations & Support – Tools and processes used to ensure an application is running effectively (e.g., logging, tracing, monitoring, alerting).
  • Data Management – Tools and processes used in data storage and movement (e.g., DBMS, caching, queues).
  • Native Mobile – Tools and processes needed to develop, deploy, and support applications written for Android or iOS.

This position will focus on the Development Track.

Minimum Position Qualifications
  • 5+ years of agile product management or new product development (NPD) experience in a digital/eCommerce company with demonstrated success delivering new products, platforms, and experiences to markets.
  • Exceptional communication, organization, and analytical skills.
  • Experience leading and managing a team with direct and indirect reports.
  • Demonstrated experience creating and using strategy to solve complex problems that span across multiple divisions and groups within company.
  • Ability to identify metrics and key performance measures and use data to drive decisions which enhance the customer experience.
  • Desired Previous Job

    Experience:

3+ years product management experience at a retailer or digital platform company.
  • Proven track record of conceiving and building platforms.
  • Experience with OKRs and iterative product development (Agile).
  • Experience using Git Hub, Atlassian, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud products.
  • Since this TPM will be working directly with development teams, a background in software development is advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
  • Create, maintain, and communicate KAP product vision, strategy, and roadmaps, including near-term delivery and long-term KAP product evolution.
  • Develop strategic product plan and deliver breakthrough KAP capabilities by working with technical and non-technical partners; measure output, improve execution, and continuously deliver 10X value creation.
  • Define KAP product strategy, features, and criteria for evaluating vendors/partners to make ongoing buy-build-partner-acquire decisions.
  • Create highly collaborative cross-functional partnerships across Kroger Technology & Digital, 84.51, Alt Profits, Merchandising, Manufacturing, Retail Operations, Supply Chain, Health & Wellness, Marketing, and Finance.
  • Identify opportunities to create best-in-class platform capabilities by leveraging customer/developer feedback, monitoring/analytics, and team know-how/know-why in order to connect company strengths with available resources.
  • Model Agile principles to increase speed and frequency of KAP product delivery by maintaining and communicating groomed backlog, providing 1‑N prioritization for backlog and set criteria for Minimum Viable Product.
  • Provide leadership direction to direct and/or matrixed core team members, incorporating feedback from across all functions, product leadership, and companys senior leadership.
  • Travel to work locations to attend company meetings.
