Pay Range

Target Pay Range: $–$ annually. Full Pay Range: $99,900.00–$ annually. Compensation decisions are based on relevant job‑related skills, experience, education or training. In addition to salary, compensation incentives are available and performance‑based with role‑specific targets.

Impact You’ll Make

As a Sr. Data Solutions Engineer on our Enterprise Data Management Team, you’ll be at the heart of shaping how BECU turns data into action. You’ll partner with internal teams and vendors to drive powerful, scalable BI solutions that directly impact how we serve our members. Your work will fuel smarter decisions, unlock deeper insights, and ensure that our Business Intelligence tools not only function – but thrive.

From streamlining ETL pipelines to optimizing dashboards and data models, this is your opportunity to take a lead role in building the foundation of BECU's data future. You’ll be hands‑on with cutting‑edge tools like Snowflake, Azure, Python, and Tableau‑helping others see what’s possible when the right data is in the right hands.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead BI Platform Strategy – Champion upgrades, enhancements, and long‑term roadmap planning for BECU's enterprise Business Intelligence tools.
  • Build & maintain Data Models – Design and maintain scalable, high‑impact data models that empower internal teams and unlock insights.
  • Partner Across Teams – Collaborate with ETL Developers, Data Architects, and Business Analysts to turn real‑world needs into technical solutions.
  • Own Vendor Relationships – Manage relationships and deliverables from external vendors supporting our Enterprise Data Management platforms.
  • Deliver BI Automation – Leverage tools like Orchestrator and Tableau to drive automation, improve efficiency, and reduce manual reporting.
  • Provide Hands‑On Support – Serve as a go‑to expert for internal users – supporting everything from technical troubleshooting to tool enablement.
  • Monitor BI Impact – Track platform usage, gather feedback, and identify areas for growth to ensure our BI investments deliver measurable value.
  • Communicate with Confidence – Share best practices and platform updates across all levels – from end users to executive leadership.
What You’ll Gain

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work/educational experience.
  • Minimum seven years of professional IT database experience, including five years in BI deployment, technical support, Dev Ops, or power user support.
  • Proven experience defining and executing BI strategy and roadmaps.
  • Hands‑on experience with BI automation and visualization (e.g., Tableau, Orchestrator).
  • Ability to articulate architecture vision and principles to executive audiences.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Databricks.
  • Experience with Alteryx.
  • Knowledge of data governance and enterprise‑scale BI environments.
  • Familiarity with adjacent cloud data platforms and integration.
