Clinical Services Coordinator – Strawberry Wilderness Community Clinic | Full Time Position Summary

The Clinical Services Coordinator provides daily operational leadership for the Rural Health Clinic, supporting both front‑ and back‑office functions. This position ensures efficient workflows, coordinates staff scheduling, supports providers, and promotes high‑quality patient care. The coordinator serves as the primary liaison between clinic staff and leadership, plays a key role in training and onboarding, and performs Medical Assistant duties as needed.

This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to solve problems proactively, and the capacity to maintain a positive, team‑centered work environment.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Promotes the mission, vision, and values of the BMHD.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for staff and providers to troubleshoot operational issues.
  • Oversee front‑ and back‑office scheduling and manage scheduling platforms.
  • Support staffing coverage during absences or peak workflow needs.
  • Collaborate with clinic leadership to resolve workflow barriers and implement improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain survey readiness requirements: DNV, OSHA, CMS, PCPCH, RHC, CLIA.
  • Lead daily huddles and routine staff meetings to ensure communication and alignment.
  • Monitor customer service standards and assist in addressing patient complaints and employee concerns.
  • Coordinate and oversee training for new hires, existing staff, and externship students.
  • Provide ongoing education, communicate new processes, and ensure staff competency.
  • Support performance development through coaching and role‑modeling positive behavior.
  • Maintain clear, consistent communication between staff and leadership.
  • Oversee routine audits: chart, supply, medication, charge posting, clinic cleanliness, and quality control.
  • Support quality improvement projects and assist in implementing new processes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with organizational policy.
  • Uphold confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and organizational standards.
Medical Assistant Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a provider, evaluates outcomes, consults with other health team members as required.
  • Ability to assist nursing and medical staff with routine examinations and patient treatments which may include neonate, pediatric, adolescent, geriatric and the general patient population.
  • Perform all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health errors.
  • Meets current documentation standards and policies.
  • Demonstrates the ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations.
  • Completes annual education requirements.
  • Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner in the community.
  • Any additional duties pertaining to the daily operations of the SWCC as assigned.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Establish & maintain solid working relationships with communication, cooperation, and positive interactive with all employees, staff, patients and physicians.
Education, Experience & Certification/Licensure

Required:

  • Minimum 2-3 years in a healthcare, clinic, or related field setting with leadership or supervisory experience.

Preferred:

  • Education:

    Associate or bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field
Certification Requirements
  • Preferred:
    Medical Assistant Certification (CMA or RMA) preferred.
  • Required:

    Obtain Medical Assistant Certification within one year of hire.
