Overview

The Supervising Physician is responsible for maintaining an open channel of communication and mentorship to providers that they supervise. Specifically, the Supervising Physician will provide constructive feedback to providers regarding their practice habits based on evidence-based guidelines, support and recommend process improvements and be responsible for review of documentation. The individual will serve as a key liaison with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and Office of Medical Affairs (OMA) regarding the initiatives set forth by the company.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

Consultation

  • Responsible for overseeing practice executed by providers under their supervision, as required by the specific state laws, including any in-person and remote visits.
  • Must be available during clinic hours of operation for communication with providers as needed, acting as an internal resource for information and for questions related to clinical practice and education.
  • Serves as the point of contact with the providers they supervise to facilitate information exchange and planning activities related to clinical operations and staff needs.
  • Identifies processes to improve overall performance of Fast Pace Health Clinics and providers and collaborates with CMO on clinical and educational needs.
  • Responsible for review and co-sign of all diagnostic EKGs, controlled substance prescriptions, charts describing need for emergency care and workers’ compensation visits. Co-signature turn around times must adhere to Fast Pace and OMA policies and procedures.

Education

  • The ability to provide training to providers on Company Standards of operations.
  • Is accountable for evaluation and training of staff providers under the guidance of the Office of Medical Affairs. This includes evidence based clinical protocols, procedural skills, medical decision making, case-based teaching and other training deemed necessary by the Office of Medical Affairs for skill enhancement.
  • The education should follow CME guidelines.

Meetings

  • The ability to meet as on a regular cadence with OMA to review and learn about OMA initiatives and discuss provider feedback.
  • The ability to meet on a regular cadence as determined by OMA with providers remotely and in person to discuss OMA initiatives. Content of the meetings, group or individual meetings and delivery of meetings whether in person or remote will be determined by OMA based on state guidelines and Fast Pace Health procedures.
  • Individual provider meetings should also occur on an as needed basis for quality assurance purposes as determined by the Supervising physician and OMA.

Quality Assurance

  • The supervising physician will work with OMA to implement, monitor and remediate Quality Improvement Plans based on state regulations including Quality Metrics based on Urgent Care Association, NCQA metrics and payer programs.
  • Responsible for reviewing applicable incident reports with providers, creating a plan of action for remediation and sharing this with OMA.
  • Responsible for overseeing quarterly review process if applicable in market.

Compliance

  • Responsible for learning the aspects of compliance within the company by completing all mandatory compliance training.
  • Responsible for overseeing performance and any related counseling of positions as it relates to practice compliance and practice improvement.
  • Responsible for maintaining a positive workplace culture, promoting employee engagement.
  • The ability to provide ongoing monitoring of standards by conducting chart reviews and allowing frequent opportunities for mentoring.
  • Maintain a current and accurate knowledge of all OMA program offerings, policies, and procedures.
  • Responsible for notifying CMO in real time of any reports or actions regarding State or Federal regulatory boards and committees.

Other

  • Must possess working knowledge and willingness to use the technology (EMR, Microsoft 365 applications etc.) used to communicate both with OMA and providers.
  • The ability to perform the physical, use of senses, cognitive, and environmental functions of the position, as specified on the physical demands.
