Overall Responsibility

You ll be responsible for providing basic clinical care to patients commensurate with their medical education. Duties include initial clinical evaluations and urgent care procedures. You will prepare patients for continued medical evaluation by advanced registered nurse practitioners by taking a brief history, establishing vital signs, and recording appropriate documentation. Job duties include preparing exam rooms for the next patient, taking vital signs, administering injections, drawing blood, running labs, performing EKGs, ordering supplies, and related tasks.

• Greets patients in a polite, prompt, and helpful manner.
• Triage patients, record vitals and medical history, and document into EMR.
• Prepare patient charts with forms, ensure copies are dated and filed.
• Obtain required signatures on forms.
• Collect, verify, and copy patient insurance information.
• Maintain medical records according to policy; copy and transfer records as needed.
• Maintain a clean and orderly office and waiting area.
• Order supplies within budgetary guidelines.
• Follow medical protocols to provide care.
• Perform complete physical exams and assessments for urgent, emergent, and non-urgent presentations.
• Order and perform tests and procedures to augment findings.
• Document differential diagnoses and plan care accordingly.
• Write orders for tests, procedures, and therapies per nursing protocols.
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in collaboration with supervising physicians.
• Interpret data and results to determine appropriate action in collaboration with physicians.
• Notate findings and treatment in patient chart including follow-up notes.
• Complete all lab tests as ordered by the provider.
• Assist with patient registration, callbacks, and other duties as needed.
• Maintain regular and sustained attendance.

• Ability to read and write medical terminology accurately.
• Ability to work all shifts including day, evening, and weekend hours as needed.
• Ability to escort or transport patients by wheelchair or stretcher when appropriate.
• Basic computer skills including familiarity with electronic medical records.
• Detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and medical staff.

• Monday to Friday

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent and graduate of an accredited program
• MA - Certificate preferred
• BLS required
• Adult and Child Mandatory Reporter Training
• 1 year experience preferred
