Position: Full-Time Clinic Nurse - EMT, MA, LPN

Full‑Time Clinic Nurse - EMT, MA, LPN at Quick Visit Urgent Care – Washington, Iowa

Quick Visit Urgent Care is here to provide accessible, affordable healthcare in your hometown for all ages. We offer a broad range of services such as onsite X‑ray, health management, cold and flu treatment, sutures, and much more. We are currently looking for a full‑time EMT, Paramedic, Medical Assistant (MA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team!

Overall Responsibility
:
You will provide basic clinical care to patients in line with your training. This includes performing initial clinical evaluations, urgent care procedures, taking brief histories, recording vital signs, and documenting findings. Job duties include: preparing exam rooms, taking vital signs, administering injections, drawing blood, running labs, performing EKGs, ordering supplies, and collaborating with advanced registered nurse practitioners as needed.

Key Tasks And Responsibilities

  • Greets patients in a polite, prompt, and helpful manner.
  • Triage patients by recording vitals, patient medical history, and entering information accurately into the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Prepare new and existing patient charts with appropriate forms, ensuring copies are dated, initiated, and placed in the patient’s file.
  • Retrieve required signatures on forms.
  • Collect, verify, and copy patient insurance information.
  • Maintain medical records according to policy; copy and transfer records when indicated.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly office and waiting area.
  • Order supplies for the office within budgetary guidelines.
  • Follow protocols that provide medical authority when indicated.
  • Perform complete physical exams and assessments of patients, including urgent, emergent, and non‑urgent presentations.
  • Select, order, and perform tests and procedures to augment physical findings.
  • Define and document differential diagnoses.
  • Write orders on physician order sheets for tests, procedures, and medicines in accordance with nursing protocols.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as required and appropriate for the plan of care, in collaboration with supervising physicians.
  • Interpret data and diagnostic results to guide appropriate action, including blood gases, radiology, EKG, etc., in collaboration with supervising physicians.
  • Notate findings and treatment courses in the inpatient chart, including follow‑up notes.
  • Complete all lab tests as ordered by the provider on staff.
  • Assist with patient registration, clinic patient callbacks, and other duties as needed.
  • Maintain regular and sustained attendance.

Skills And Attributes

  • Ability to accurately read and write medical terminology.
  • Ability to work all shifts, including day, evening, and weekend hours as needed.
  • Ability to escort or transport patients by wheelchair or stretcher when appropriate.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with electronic medical records.
  • Detail‑oriented with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients and medical staff.

Schedule

  • 12‑hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent and graduate of an accredited program.
  • EMT or Paramedic – Certificate preferred.
  • MA – Certificate preferred.
  • LPN License – State of Iowa.
  • BLS required.
  • Adult and Child Mandatory Reporter Training.
  • 1‑year experience preferred.
