Position Title:
Oregon Hunger Task Force (OHTF) Intern
Reports to:
Chris Baker, Oregon Hunger Task Force Administrator
Time Commitment:
Suggested commitment is 160 hours over 4 months, averaging about
40hrs of work per month (negotiable)
Stipend:
Not offered at this time
- Attending monthly OHTF meetings (fourth Tuesday of each month, 10-11:30am)
- General support with OHTF administrative duties: note taking, agendas, document creation, and special projects.
- Attending internal OHTF related staff meetings
- Support with OHTF Committees, assisting with note taking, and agenda setting as needed
- Support with tracking deliverables related to our Roadmap to End Hunger work
- Option to support with lobbying during the 2025 Regular Legislative Session
- Experience and mentorship supporting a legislatively mandated Board
- Access to OHTF members which include legislative members and their staff, state agency leads, and representatives from various nonprofit and advocacy organizations
- Opportunity to learn about the legislative process, participate in lobbying efforts, attend legislative hearings, and provide testimony
- Written letter of recommendation upon request
- Enrolled, or pending enrollment, at least half-time in a higher-education program intersectional to food insecurity, and/or policy work.
- Must be willing to commit to serving the full term. Attendance during meetings, events, and lobby days is negotiable depending on class load, but preference is for full attendance.
- Ability to travel to OHTF related events if appropriate (mileage + parking will be reimbursed)
- A high degree of initiative and independent judgment, with the ability to problem-solve and act independently in alignment with OHTF’s values and priorities.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Highly organized; ability to manage priorities and organize time to see projects through to successful completion.
- Strong attention to detail at all levels of work, with a high degree of accuracy.
