We’re working with an innovative engineering team developing next-generation aerospace hardware, and they’re looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer who combines strong analytical capability with hands‑on prototyping experience.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast‑paced technical environments, enjoys defining requirements from first principles, and wants to see their designs move from concept to flight‑ready hardware.

🛠 What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Detailed metallic part design & structural analysis
  • Conceptual design and sizing of composite structures
  • 3D printed and injection molded plastic part design
  • Collaborating with FEA partners to analyze and optimize structural performance
  • Managing CAD assemblies using best‑practice top‑down modeling
  • Creating interface control documents and subsystem requirements
  • Fabricating and testing prototypes
  • Working directly with vendors to manufacture your designs
  • Generating drawings and maintaining BOMs
  • Presenting technical work and design summaries to stakeholders
  • Managing projects to cost, schedule, and performance targets


What We’re Looking For:
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering (minimum)
  • 2+ years of experience in a mechanical engineering role
  • Familiarity with composite materials and manufacturing techniques (molding, machining, 3D printing)
  • Hands‑on experience building and prototyping your own designs
  • Experience with aircraft, UAVs, UAS, or drones is a strong plus
  • U.S. Person (due to project requirements)
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (domestic)
Desired Tools &

Skills:
  • Solid Works (2+ years)
  • FEA (Solid Works Simulation or similar)
  • Microsoft Office
  • MATLAB or Octave (plus)
  • Familiarity with project management tools
  • Comfortable using hand tools for light prototyping
