Position Information- Department: Academic Programs / Student Affairs (LCB)
- Position Title: Instructor – Biology (Fixed‑term, non‑tenure‑track, full/part‑time)
- Appointment Type: Academic Faculty
- Location: Bend, Oregon
- Job Summary: Teach undergraduate biology courses term by term for the 2025‑2026 academic year, with potential for renewal.
- Teaching (95% of time): Administer and teach biology courses term by term. Complete course assessment processes, develop curriculum, maintain inclusive learning environment, provide office hours, and evaluate laboratory materials.
- Student Advising & Mentoring (5%): Advise students, hold office hours, complete record‑keeping, and administer grades.
- Master’s degree in Biology, Microbiology, Botany, Physiology, or Molecular Biology (required).
- Demonstrated university‑level instructional experience and curriculum development in biology courses.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety and facility use.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Must successfully complete a criminal history check.
- PhD or terminal degree in a related field.
- College or university‑level teaching experience.
- Experience designing and assessing inclusive courses.
- Minimum three years of independent university‑level instruction, including introductory lecture and laboratory courses.
Work schedule may vary. Salary is commensurate with skills, education, and experience.
