Forklift Operator

Location: Elkton
BBSI's client is a well-established nursery that is looking for a forklift operator at their Elkton farm location. This is a seasonal position from mid-December to March but could potentially be extended for the right person looking for a permanent position. Responsibilities can vary between forklift operating and physical tasks.

Responsibilities:

* Operating forklifts to load and unload trucks and cooler/freezer storage.

* Assemble tier racks and fix pallets as needed.

* Other duties as assigned. May include physical duties in the nursery.

Ideal candidates have the following skills and experience:

* Valid drivers license, reliable transportation and a clean driving record.

* Experience driving forklifts.

* Experience driving other equipment such as tractors preferred.

* Good attendance and willingness to work long hours and some weekends.

* Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs.

* Good time management and record keeping. Needs to fill out paperwork and keep IPad records.

* Ability to learn new things, follow directions and work well with a team.

Other Details

* Hours:

day shift, but hours and days can vary due to weather, so availability to work a flexible schedule that may involve long days and weekends

* Pay Rate: $18.00/hr

* Position Type: seasonal temp worker, may become permanent.

* Clean background check and negative drug screen required.

* Interview process includes a tractor driving assessment.
