The hours and location you’ll work as a Senior Diesel Mechanic with WM
  • Monday – Friday every week
  • Second Shift, 2:30 pm start time
  • No weekends
  • The normal setting for this job is a repair / maintenance shop at our Arlington, OR site.
What you’ll be doing as Senior Diesel Mechanic
  • Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment.
  • Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs and new parts.
  • Perform your work within our Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
  • Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
  • Conduct safety checks on vehicles – the safety of every single employee and the people in our communities is our number one priority.
  • Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
  • Assist Diesel Mechanics in the completion of project work.
  • Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
Requirements for Senior Diesel Mechanic
  • 4 years of heavy‑duty truck experience
  • A valid driver’s license, with a clean driving record
  • Be over 18 years of age.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Successfully complete and pass pre‑employment drug screen and physical.

Work environment and physical demands
  • Required to exert physical effort that will include but is not limited to frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, and climbing;
    Constantly standing, walking, and grasping;
    Occasionally: sitting and balancing
  • Required to be exposed to physical occupational risks (such as cuts, burns, exposure to toxic chemicals, etc.) often;
  • Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements often;
  • This job operates in both inside garage, shop or gas plant conditions as well as in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity.
