Job DescriptionAs a Waterfowl Population Assessor (Biological Science Assistant) in Summer Lake, Oregon, you will:
- Capture, identify, and band migratory game bird species
- Monitor movements
- Record population information for waterfowl species
- Monitor population status to support harvest management decisions
- Buildings, grounds, and facilities maintenance
- Habitat maintenance and management

This position requires acquiring an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) Safety Education Card obtained through the Oregon State Parks and Recreation Department within the first thirty days of appointment.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FORMinimum qualifications are not established for this position; however, we are seeking applicants with the following experience or skills. Preference for interviews may be given to candidates with these skills and background:
- Experience capturing and handling wildlife
- Experience collecting and recording field data
- Banding experience
- ATV experience
- Anyone who has or is in pursuit of a Fisheries or Wildlife Science degree or related degree in biological/ecological sciences
