5. This onsite position allows you to directly contribute to fire suppression efforts, gaining hands‑on experience in a dynamic environment.
- This seasonal position pays $22.50 per hour
. - Successful candidates will work 10‑hour shifts/ 4 days per week
. Hired seasonal staff will be assigned to rotating crew schedules. - This temporary position will start July 2026 and end in September 2026.

Are you a good fit for this Seasonal Wildland Firefighter job?To thrive as a Seasonal Wildland Firefighter with Jackson County Fire District 5, it is important that you review the required key skills and certifications.
Required minimum qualifications- A Firefighter Type 2 (FF2) certification is required, ensuring you have the foundational knowledge needed for effective wildland fire response and suppression.
- A valid driver's license is required for this position to drive vehicles during training and response.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Completion of High School or Equivalent.
- Firefighter 1 and Driver Operator experience and certification will give you a competitive edge, enhancing your ability to respond effectively to emergencies.
- Experience in emergency medical services (EMS) and an active EMS license are preferred, as they equip you with critical first‑aid skills necessary for community service during incidents.
