Providing specialized perioperative nursing care during surgical procedures, this role demands expertise in the operating room environment to deliver safe, effective, and patient-centered care. The Registered Nurse will serve as a patient advocate and supervise assigned personnel while adhering to high standards of practice across all perioperative services.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, direct, and control perioperative nursing activities independently and with accountability
• Ensure patient safety by protecting against injury from surgical instruments, equipment, and environmental hazards
• Verify correct surgical site, side, and level; manage specimens in accordance with protocols
• Administer medications safely and monitor patient vital systems (respiratory, cardiovascular, neurological, etc.)
• Deliver age-specific, culturally competent, ethical nursing care compliant with legal standards
• Maintain surgical site infection prevention practices and uphold patient dignity and privacy
• Document all nursing care precisely and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
• Participate actively in required education, competency maintenance, and professional development
• Support hospital mission and policies, including readiness for scheduled surgery unit on-call rotations
• Assist in other qualified departments as needed

Qualifications:

• Associate of Science in Nursing (Bachelor's degree preferred)
• Current RN license in Oregon with BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications; TNCC required
• Preferred: CNOR, Peri-op 101 training, and CRASE certification if assignment extends beyond six months
• Prior RN circulator or scrub experience preferred, but not mandatory
• Ability to multitask efficiently, communicate compassionately, and demonstrate teamwork skills
• Commitment to patient confidentiality and service excellence
