Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop efficient staffing plans to provide adequate department coverage including mandated breaks, and absences.
  • Reviews employees' work, evaluate performance, and respond to employee problems and complaints.
  • Develop staff through training and orientation in cooperation with the CNO.
  • Plans, develops, coordinates and manages day-to-day functions within the Department of Nursing Services.

Required

Skills and Abilities

:

  • Broad knowledge of nursing principles and practices
  • Knowledge of nursing and medical regulations and guidelines
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and database applications software.
  • Knowledge of supervision and conflict resolution, team-building methods and staff development techniques.


Education and Experience:

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Over three (3) years of experience in nursing.
  • Possession of a current Registered Nurse license within the State of Oregon, or ability to acquire by time of appointment.
  • Must possess CPR/BLS and ACLS within one (1) year of hire
  • Must possess NRP, ENCP/PALS, and TNCC within two (2) years of hire

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Possession of ACLS, PALS, NRP and TNCC at time of appointment.
  • Previous nursing experience in a Rural Critical Access Hospital.
  • Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of nursing.
  • National Nursing Certification in area of interest.
