To assist in the preparation of raw materials and WIPs to be used in food products in Amy’s kitchen.
Responsibilities- Follow instructions from Shift Lead, Lead Prep, Kitchen Supervisor or Kitchen Manager.
- Understand and follow all SOP’s for Prep equipment.
- Follow standard batching procedures and techniques, including correct weighing and measuring procedures.
- Ensure correct tag labeling and storage procedures are being followed for all containers.
- Maintain basic Math and Reading skills.
- Understand quality attributes of ingredients, check for quality, and report issues immediately.
- Comply with Amy's Kitchen Inc. employee handbook, safety manual, and GMP booklet.
- Ensure compliance with Critical Control Points and Preventive Controls, such as Cook Time, Metal Detection, Canning Process, Line Clearance, Pre-Operational Cleaning, and Sanitation.
- Report all mechanical problems to the Prep Lead, Assistant Supervisor, Kitchen Manager, or Maintenance Department immediately.
- Review and ensure accuracy for all transactions (issuing materials, requisitions, and returns to stock).
- Report all transactions in Oracle against Manufacturing Orders for materials required, request, and return to stock.
- Complete daily Shift Report on the day’s run.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Prep Lead or Assistant Supervisor or dictated by the production schedule.
- Regular attendance required.
- Overtime may be required during peak season or based on company needs.
Education and Experience
- Less than high school education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills
- Pass math and literacy test successfully.
- Mathematical skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide with 10's, 100's, and use units of American money and weight measurement.
- Reasoning ability: apply common sense to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions and de‑al‑mane with standard situations.
- Language skills: read limited number of two- and three-syllable words, recognize series of numbers, print and speak simple sentences.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Certified in batch sheet usage.
Physical Demands
The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to handle, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and push, pull, lift, and/or move 50–65 pounds, and team lift over 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, and distance vision.
Work Environment
The work environment is wet and/or humid, with moving mechanical parts, high, precarious places, and extreme cold. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The position requires constant movement, reaching, stretching, lifting, pulling, pushing, rapid movements under wet condition (non‑weather).
