- Set up CNC machining jobs using setup sheets and detailed instructions.
- Check and verify new CNC programs, making necessary adjustments to ensure proper execution.
- Perform program edits and write short programs directly at the controller level.
- Read, interpret, and understand dimensions and tolerances from blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Work with close tolerances on machined parts to meet precise specifications and quality standards.
- Operate and set up various CNC equipment including vertical mills, horizontal mills, turning centers, and multi-axis turning centers.
- Apply experience and knowledge of manual machining when needed to support operations.
- Utilize precision instruments, hand tools, and measuring equipment to verify part accuracy and quality.
- Troubleshoot machining issues, optimize feeds and speeds, and ensure smooth program operation.
- Collaborate with supervisors and engineers to improve machining processes and maintain production efficiency.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with company standards.
- 2+ years of machining experience preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment.
- Hands‑on experience with DMG Mori CNC Machines (NLX
2500, NT5400, and CTX Beta 1250TC) and Mori Seiki NHX 6300 is highly desirable. - 2+ years of experience with Multi‑Axis Machining
, including multi‑axis lathes with live tooling. - Strong understanding of CNC programming, setup, and operation principles.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and dial in new programs for optimal feeds and speeds.
- Proficiency in using precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs and stand for extended periods in a manufacturing environment.
