Operations Manager
Location: Weston
Confer with management, production, and marketing staff to discuss project specifications and procedures. Coordinate and direct projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities. Directs the activities, policies, and practices of the maintenance department so that department and company objectives are met. Responsible for the safe repair and maintenance of plant equipment and facilities to ensure maximum plant profitability and compliance with pertinent company policies, laws, and regulations.
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS
- Work with manufacturing and support engineering and automation teams to implement process improvements to production lines.
- Participate in design of new manufacturing lines, packaging equipment, site building expansion, utilities, and safety regulatory.
- Manage suppliers through design, build, installation, and qualification phases of the project.
- Manage change operations as required.
- Communicate with various departments, external customers, or directly associated with assigned task/ projects (verbal and written).
- Produce the product of requested tasks in the form of components, assemblies, drawings, and data.
- Manage entire projects from concept design through production startup. Oversees administration to include files, proposals, reports, or presentations.
- Maintain project with budget guidelines.
- Analyzing current competitive technologies to determine best was to address requirements. Foster creativity and innovation in design solutions.
- Develop and maintain a set of departmental KPI’s and goals.
- Effectively drive maintenance department towards initiative-taking maintenance, including Root Cause Analysis to prevent future occurrences.
- Establish, monitor, and evolve job and work procedures in maintenance.
- Ensure timely and effective reaction and follow up to equipment failures and performance issues.
- Implement and maintain CMMS system for tracking of vendors, equipment, parts inventory work requests, work orders, parts requisition, purchase orders, scheduling, PMs, and other tasks.
- Rationalize and oversee the maintenance of sufficient, organized, and cost-effective spare parts inventory, including capital spares management program and establishment of regular review of min/max inventory levels.
- Ensure adequate staffing and skills level to meet objectives, interview and hire employees, review and appraise work performance, train, and develop new and existing maintenance employees, oversee disciplinary matters in accordance with company policy.
- Promote teamwork, communication, positive interpersonal relationships. Identify and resolve personnel conflicts in an initiative‑taking manner.
- Ensure Maintenance personnel use PPE and follow all safety rules.
- Follow J&J Snack Foods Food Safety Plan and Safe Quality Food Program, GMP’s and Good Documentation Practices.
- Follows all OSHA safety rules and all food safety laws and regulations.
5-10 years mechanical experience in food manufacturing environment preferred but not required.
US Salary Pay Range: $80,000 - $120,000 USD
