Location: Wood Village

Legacy Talent Search is currently seeking candidates for a Shop Assistant role in Wood Village, OR. Our client is a well-established industry leader known for innovation, precision, and a commitment to delivering the highest quality products. Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare raw materials for production machines, ensuring correct sizing and readiness for use.
  • Measure and inspect material for straightness, quality, and proper dimensions; chamfer bar ends as required.
  • Maintain and organize material flow from inventory to machine workstations to support smooth operations.
  • Sort and deburr finished machined parts with close attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Sort raw materials and promptly notify purchasing of any non-conforming lots.
  • Clean and maintain machine exterior surfaces to ensure a safe and organized workspace.
  • Enter materials into inventory systems accurately and issue materials as needed.
  • Operate forklifts and other equipment to safely move products and materials throughout the facility.
  • Cross-train in receiving operations as a secondary responsibility.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support production and shipping operations.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 6 months to 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, and scanning) required.
  • Basic knowledge of calipers and micrometers is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail when reading job travelers and following work instructions.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to read and understand safety and training materials in English.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Forklift operation experience preferred (training may be provided).
