Environmental Services Custodial Operations Manager

Sodexo is hiring an Environmental Services Custodial Operations Manager for the Lincoln County School District in Toledo, Oregon. This role is primarily a swing shift with a focus on managing sanitation across 14 schools and 5,100 students throughout the district’s 1,000‑mile geography. The successful candidate must live in the county, hold a valid driver’s license, and have a clear driving background.

• Strategically manage time on the swing shift and oversee day‑to‑day custodial operations for a very large district.
• Develop staffing schedules, manage payroll, and order supplies while utilizing CMMS, Microsoft Excel, and other software applications.
• Hire, train, and develop a strong team of approximately 40 frontline professionals, providing safety training and equipment use (wet‑dry vacuums, extractors, sprayers, auto scrubbers, electric carts).
• Maintain a clean, safe environment for all students, faculty, employees, and guests, ensuring compliance with Sodexo safety and loss prevention programs.
• Provide backup for the Director and manage any planned and unplanned projects, including occasional weekend projects and morale boosting for the team.

• Leadership experience managing a swing shift and a strong capacity to live in the county.
• Valid driver’s license and clear driving background.
• Successful experience managing COVID response.
• Intermediate level skills in Excel, CMMS, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• 5 or more years of previous custodial – environmental services management experience.
• Excellent time management, strong communication skills, and an innovative, solution‑oriented approach to adversity and diverse personalities.
• Strong working knowledge of cleaning standards, cleaning chemicals, floor care, and high‑touch cleaning.
• Knowledge of the district geography and building locations to plan travel navigation across the 1,000‑mile radius in both peak and non‑peak traffic.

Provides management oversight for Environmental Services exempt and non‑exempt level staff in the delivery of Sodexo Environmental Service Programs. Ensures Environmental Service programs are in place and functioning according to design to consistently meet all company, client, and regulatory requirements.

• Establish a safe work environment for clients, customers, and staff by ensuring equipment safety and compliance with Sodexo safety and loss prevention programs.
• Assume GM responsibilities and authority in absence.
• Supervise day‑to‑day work activities by delegating authority, assigning and prioritizing activities, and monitoring compliance to operating standards.
• Ensure compliance with application of all Sodexo Quality Assurance and Regulatory standards within the contractually agreed upon scope of services.
• Establish and/or adhere to defined operating standards, develop and implement quality improvements, and ensure direct reports and staff adhere to the standards and expectations.
• Assist with Management of Environmental Service budget by ensuring full compliance to established operating standards, monitoring costs, and taking corrective action as needed.

• Must live in Lincoln County School District per the client.
• Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience.
