Job Title:
Flooring Technician

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Flooring Technician to perform floor resurfacing, stripping, waxing, and polishing in commercial and/or residential environments. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience using buffer machines and floor care equipment to restore, maintain, and protect a variety of flooring surfaces while ensuring high-quality results and adherence to safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strip, resurface, wax, and polish hard surface floors including vinyl, VCT, linoleum, and sealed concrete

  • Operate buffer machines, auto scrubbers, burnishers, and related floor care equipment safely and effectively

  • Prepare floor surfaces by cleaning, stripping old finishes, and making minor repairs as needed

  • Apply floor finishes and wax evenly to achieve a clean, durable, and professional appearance

  • Maintain and properly handle equipment, chemicals, and supplies

  • Follow safety protocols, including proper chemical handling and use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

  • Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met

  • Communicate with supervisors or clients regarding job progress and any issues identified

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven experience resurfacing, stripping, and waxing floors

  • Proficiency in operating buffer machines and other floor maintenance equipment

  • Knowledge of floor care chemicals, finishes, and safety practices

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Strong attention to detail and quality

  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs

  • Reliable transportation and punctual attendance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in commercial, healthcare, or industrial floor maintenance

  • Floor care or janitorial certifications

  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards

Work Environment:

  • Indoor and occasional outdoor work environments

  • May involve evening, overnight, or weekend shifts depending on project needs
