Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for an Install Handoff Technician to join our growing infrastructure operations team. The role involves working with minimum supervision in a dynamic environment to support stability and sustainability of our next-generation networks, scale several data center locations, manage capacity, and automate and scale network operations. The successful candidate will report to a site location in Oregon (Boardman, Umatilla, Hermiston).

Key job responsibilities:

• Work closely with Network Engineering & Network Technical Project Manager teams to ensure fast, smooth rollout of established designs and products.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
• Report current status via ticketing system, status reports, email and Slack.
• Manage work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects.
• Maintain accurate records and document problems and processes to successfully draft and execute changes within data centers.
• Troubleshoot networking, routing and interconnectivity issues, including device configuration and low-level application interaction.
• Troubleshoot cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords.
• Remediate small-scale hardware failures related to cabling infrastructure connectivity issues.
• Participate in migration, basic configuration, and rollout of new or upgraded hardware.
• Exhibit quality workmanship on all work and maintain site cleanliness.
• Carry a cell phone for communication, information, and emergencies.
• Up to 50% travel within geographical work area may be required; some travel outside traditional work area may be requested.

Basic qualifications:

• 2+ years of computer hardware experience, including troubleshooting and repair.
• 1+ year of computer networking experience.
• High School diploma or equivalent.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay ranges from $50,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $113,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on location and may vary with experience.
