Ogle County Court Services/Probation is seeking a dynamic Probation Supervisor to lead adult and juvenile probation staff and strengthen treatment-focused, supportive supervision. This role blends leadership, clinical-informed oversight, and program development to ensure interventions are effective, accessible, and designed to promote meaningful behavioral change. The Supervisor will coach staff, facilitate structured groups, expand community-based treatment partnerships, and address service gaps to improve outcomes for justice-involved individuals.
This is a full-time (35 hours/week) position with on-call rotation, generous paid time off, competitive medical benefits, and participation in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF).
Key Responsibilities- Lead, mentor, and supervise probation staff to promote professional growth and high-quality case supervision
- Integrate treatment goals into supervision strategies and evidence-based practices
- Facilitate structured interventions and skill-building groups for clients
- Develop and strengthen community treatment programs and partnerships
- Review reports, manage caseload assignments, and ensure compliance with court and departmental standards
- Promote innovation, collaboration, and measurable outcomes across the department
Supervisory experience in social services, behavioral health, or probation, with strong leadership, coaching, and problem-solving skills and a passion for therapeutic, outcomes-focused supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (AOIC Supervisory Requirements) Education & Experience (any of the following)- Master's degree in management, public administration, criminal justice, social work, or related field, plus at least 1 year of probation/court services experience
- Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, social work, psychology, sociology, or related field, plus at least 2 years of probation/court services experience
- U.S. citizen
- Illinois resident within 90 days of appointment (extensions possible for good cause)
- AOIC Supervisory Eligibility Letter required at the time of hire
