OverviewHampton Lumber is seeking an HR Manager to join our team at our Warrenton, OR, sawmill. This is a highly visible, people‑focused role that serves as a trusted partner to plant leadership and employees alike. The HR Manager will support the full employee lifecycle—including recruiting, onboarding, compliance, and retention—while maintaining a strong presence throughout the mill. Success in this role means being proactive, approachable, and engaged in the plant, not just behind a desk.
The ideal candidate brings a balanced approach of empathy and accountability, and is confident offering respectful, solutions‑oriented input to support both people and plant performance.

- Recruitment & Hiring: Lead local recruiting efforts and develop strategies to attract top talent. Work with supervisors to build and maintain candidate pipelines.
- Onboarding & Orientation: Design and facilitate welcoming, organized onboarding experiences to ensure new hires feel prepared and connected.
- Employee Relations: Serve as a neutral, trusted resource—counselor, coach, and connector—helping employees navigate workplace issues and grow professionally.
- Employee Discipline & Termination: Ensure processes are fair, compliant, and well‑documented. Partner with supervisors to uphold expectations and support consistent leadership practices.
- Training & Development: Coordinate employee training sessions; collaborate on skill development, safety training, and leadership growth programs.
- Provide leadership in the development and implementation of project best practices that impact safety, quality, and productivity.
- Safety & Compliance: Collaborate with safety teams and supervisors to identify risks and promote a culture of safety. Ensure HR policies and practices meet all legal and regulatory standards.
