job summary

working as a caregiver in our community based care facility, you will assist residents with daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their safety and well-being, while also providing companionship. Caregivers work closely with residents, their families, and care team to provide personalized care that meets each individual's unique needs and preferences.

responsibilities
  • provide assistance with activities of daily living (adls).
  • monitor and report any changes in residents physical or mental health.
  • assists with serving resident meals.
  • provide companionship and build positive relationships with clients to reduce feelings of isolation or loneliness.
  • assist in maintaining accurate records of care provided, including daily logs, progress notes, and incident reports.
  • maintain resident confidentiality.
  • encourage clients to participate in activities that promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
  • support clients in maintaining independence in their daily routines and decision‑making.
  • ensure a safe environment by identifying and addressing potential hazards in community setting.
  • respond promptly and appropriately to emergencies, such as falls, injuries, or sudden health changes, following established protocols.
  • collaborate with the care team, including healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members, to provide coordinated care.
  • communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to ensure clarity and understanding of care plans and any changes.
  • present for staff meetings and trainings.
  • other duties as assigned.
requirements
  • high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • previous experience in caregiving, home care, or community‑based care is preferred.
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others.
  • good organizational and time‑management skills.
  • ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and assisting residents with mobility.
  • must be able to stand, walk, and reach for extended periods.
  • ability to pass a background check.

the wallowa valley senior living assisted living and memory care community is located in enterprise, oregon and is a part of the wallowa county health care district campus with a beautiful view of our famous eagle cap wilderness. We offer 17 assisted living apartments and 8 in the memory care.
