As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will provide person-centered care and support to individuals in their homes and in the community. You’ll assist with daily living activities, implement individualized goals, and foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages growth and independence.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping others, enjoys being active in the community, and is looking for a meaningful, hands‑on position with real impact.
Key Responsibilities Care and Support- Assist clients with daily tasks such as hygiene, meals, and light housekeeping while encouraging independence
- Implement goals outlined in the Individual Support Plan (ISP)
- Foster healthy routines and support client development in line with their abilities and interests
- Accompany clients on outings, appointments, or errands
- Promote social inclusion by encouraging community interaction and positive relationships
- Provide safe and reliable transportation using your own vehicle
- Ensure safety in both home and community settings
- Respond calmly and effectively in challenging situations, including medical or behavioral emergencies
- Maintain regular communication with the administrative team
- Accurately complete all required documentation and reporting
- Ability to assist with lifting, bending, walking, and other physical aspects of caregiving
- Capable of handling behavioral challenges and supporting individuals with higher needs
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Prior experience as a DSP or in a similar caregiving/support role
- Comfortable supporting individuals with high behavioral needs
- Available to work weekends (required)
- Own reliable transportation for use in transporting clients
- Valid Driver’s License and current auto insurance (minimum 100k/300k liability coverage)
- Smartphone with internet access for documentation
- Ability to pass a DHS criminal background check
- Compassionate and reliable with strong interpersonal skills
- Detail‑oriented and able to follow instructions precisely
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Ability to build positive relationships with clients, families, and coworkers
- $22-$24.50 hourly pay (based on client care needs)
