New employees hired after January 1, 2025 are eligible to participate.

    Certifications:

    DPSST Intermediate Certified Police Officer earns 4% incentive on base pay; DPSST Advanced Certified Police Officer earns 7% incentive on base pay.
  • Bilingual pay:
    Successful completion of bilingual fluency and competency, employee receives 5% incentive on base salary.
  • Longevity: 2% on base salary beginning after the 12th year of continuous service in the bargaining unit; 4% on base salary beginning after the 15th year of continuous service in the bargaining unit; and 6% on base salary with 20 years or more continuous service in the bargaining unit.
ABOUT THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE:

The Tillamook County Sheriff's duty is to maintain peace within the county, and as an elected official the Sheriff is accountable to the people of Tillamook County. Citizens living and visiting Tillamook County receive many services from your Sheriff's Office. Some of the major operations include our 54 dedicated employees running and maintaining the Jail, Search and Rescue on land and water, processing and delivery of civil papers, Community Corrections (Parole and Probation), Court House Security, major crime team response, and support of the municipal City Police Departments.
ABOUT THE POSITION:

Community Corrections, also referred to as the Adult Parole & Probation Department is a division of the Tillamook County Sheriff's Office. Community Corrections provides supervision, services and sanctions to approximately 280 felony and selected misdemeanor offenders being supervised on Parole, Probation, Post Prison Supervision of other related release status. Risk/Needs assessments are conducted, and referrals made to community partners for specialized services.

For non-resident offenders, the division facilitates the offenders return to their county or state of residence. The division also manages a system of structured sanctions for offenders engaged in non-compliant behavior.

Qualifications
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Functions
  • Interview offenders and outline release conditions, expectations and consequences.
  • Assess offender needs; design, implement, and monitor assistance plan; counsel and refer to mental health, substance abuse treatment, community service work, employment services, support groups, sex offender treatment, and other programs as necessary.
  • Collaborate with partner agencies, including law enforcement, treatment providers, and social services, to support offender rehabilitation and compliance.
  • Successfully manage a caseload of individuals placed under supervision by releasing authorities.
  • Testify credibly as a witness in court and administrative proceedings.
  • Design treatment plan; consult with treatment resources, referral of clients with parole boards, social service agencies, or health and welfare agencies.
  • Assist clients in development of self-care plans, establish realistic goals.
