Sr Payroll Specialist Job Description
Coordinate and monitor end-to-end activities for on and off cycle processing for multi-company, multi-state payrolls. Guide payroll members through processes, and ensure payroll review and approval, including onetime payment reviews, are conducted biweekly. Collaborate with internal and external partners to execute and reconcile complex pay data inputs, such as expatriate data, stock equity, and special bonus programs.
Responsibilities- Monitor and resolve payroll issues reported by stakeholders and escalated by Payroll team members.
- Manage stock equity input and reconciliation of RSU and Non-Qual options, ensuring timely tax capture and reporting.
- Prepare reporting and develop auditing procedures to ensure compliance with tax, wage, and benefit reporting regulations.
- Explore regulatory and legislative updates affecting Payroll processes, partnering with stakeholders for execution.
- Assist Payroll Lead with vendor oversight and management, ensuring compliance and monitoring SLAs.
- Identify process and practice gaps, working with Business Analysts and Technical Support for improvements.
- Provide backup for coordinators during busy seasons, including creating termination documents and handling wage requests.
- 4-5+ years of high-volume payroll processing experience with 3000+ employees.
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now, Vantage, Enterprise, or Payforce US.
- Familiarity with Multi-State payrolls, specifically OR and CA.
- Proficiency in State Payroll Tax and compliance.
- Strong understanding of local and federal payroll tax rules and regulations.
- Advanced MS Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with UKG Dimensions.
- Experience in NY, NJ, OR, WA, and CA.
- CPP or Payroll Certification.
- Experience in publicly traded companies.
- Familiarity with stock management.
The position is based in an office workspace with a hybrid schedule of 4 days in the office and 1 day remote each week.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, OR.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $44.00/hr.
