Plant Engineer

The Plant Engineer is responsible for engineering and project support for process and specialty gas operations, plant and equipment maintenance, and project engineering from design to start‑up in accordance with Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. policies. The role includes providing technical guidance to plant operations, ensuring all plant and equipment is inspected, tested, and maintained to company and manufacturer standards, and working under limited supervision to create design layouts and equipment lists.

The Plant Engineer communicates and collaborates with project management, customers, operations, procurement, safety, and business groups, and implements innovative solutions for process and project‑based problems.

This exempt, salaried position requires a consistent on‑site presence during core operating hours but may include occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed.

• Develop project plans by reviewing project proposals and objectives
• Determine project requirements by reviewing product requirements, customer specifications, and performance standards
• Determine project schedule by reviewing project plan and specifications; calculate time requirements; sequence project elements
• Execute project plan and maintain schedule, monitor progress, coordinate activities, and resolve problems
• Resolve engineering issues with proposals or projects
• Control project plan, schedule changes, and recommend actions
• Control project costs and approve expenditures
• Ensure compliance with company policy and government regulations
• Participate in final field safety inspections
• Troubleshoot plant process equipment problems and implement solutions
• Execute aspects of the company Safety Program
• Oversee and direct hazardous and universal waste activities within the facility
• Schedule and coordinate repair, modification, and preventive maintenance operations
• Oversee location Contractor Safety Program
• Oversee location's Process Safety Mechanical Integrity Program
• Assist in the development and review of standard operating procedures
• Participate in HAZOPs and FMEAs
• Act as location liaison with corporate process safety group
• Oversee and/or perform new equipment installations
• Other duties as assigned

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred)
• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in Engineering
• Experience managing projects preferred
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience creating mechanical equipment and related drawings using AutoCAD (2D) and Inventor (3D and 2D)
• Positive attitude, willingness to adapt quickly to changing situations, strong communication skills
• Detail‑oriented self‑starter capable of working independently and as a team participant or leader
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
