Design Engineer (H/F) - SAFRAN LANDING SYSTEMS KENTUCKY, LLC at AEROCONTACT
OverviewSafran Landing Systems is the world leader in aircraft landing gear and braking functions. This role manages the design office activities for design and service of W&B programs, including CAD design, sizing, and mechanical, dynamic, and thermal calculations using the finite element method.
Responsibilities- Define, organize, and manage design office activities for W&B programs in development/service.
- Perform CAD design, sizing, and mechanical, dynamic, and thermal calculations.
- Ensure technical and organizational follow‑through of the program with support of designers, stress engineers, test lab, and thermal and dynamic engineers.
- Interface with internal interlocutors (test laboratory, program manager, program chief engineer, industrial management, quality, after‑sales) and external partners (airframers, airlines, suppliers).
- Define, organize, and manage subcontracting activities with service providers/experts when required.
- Participate in research & technology studies and projects.
- Contribute to the continued advancement of programs and overall Design Engineer role.
- Make occasional trips within production sites, suppliers, partners, customers, airlines, and aircraft manufacturers in the US, France, and abroad.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship.
- Master’s degree or related education in mechanics of solids.
- +5 years of experience in a successful technical project in aeronautics preferred.
- Demonstrated significant skills in mechanical design, static & fatigue analysis, behavior of metallic materials, CAD, DFMEA, design to cost, design for manufacturing.
- Skills in dynamic/vibration analysis and thermal analysis of mechanical equipment valued.
