LOCATION: Warm Springs K-8 Academy

HOURS: 8 hours a day

MUST BE: Enrolled in a K-8 teacher education program, and Native Language program.

POSITION SUMMARY: The educational assistant shall assist the teacher or building administrator in a supportive capacity. The role of the educational assistant is adaptable to many support tasks within the educational environment.

• Have a high school diploma or the equivalent;
• Be at least 18 years of age;
• Have standards of moral character as required of teachers (OAR );
• Native language speaker

• Completed two years of study at an institution of higher education; or obtained an Associate’s (or higher) degree; or met a rigorous standard of quality and demonstrate through a formal state, or local academic assessment or para-educator certificate program, knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing:
  Reading, writing, and mathematics; or reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness, as appropriate (Assessment is offered by District).

• 1-2 years experience working as an educational assistant in a k-12 school district.
• Some college coursework.

  $18.69 - $23.56 per hour (Sponsored by CTWS Grow Your Own grant)
• Work days:180 (10 month)
• Personal days, Sick days
• JCSD 509-J pays the employee’s share (6%) of the Public Employees Retirement System Contribution
