Position Summary: The primary purpose of this position is the instruction and supervision of a diverse group of students keeping within the law, board policies, and administrative regulations. A primary focus is the establishment of a positive learning environment that promotes a high level of achievement for all students while considering the background and developmental level of the individual student. Instruction and supervision include student guidance, classroom management, and knowledge in subject areas taught through District and state standards.

This is demonstrated by appropriate curriculum design, instructional practices, and student progress assessment in both English and Spanish.

• Bachelor's Degree aligned to position.
• Valid TSPC endorsement, or ability to obtain prior to position start date.
• Bilingual/biliterate in Spanish and English.
• Have standards of moral character as required of all Oregon licensed educators (OAR ).

• Masters of Arts in Teaching.
• Masters Degree aligned to position.
• 3 years experience teaching aligned to position in a public‑school setting.
• Reading and/or ESOL Endorsements.
• Understanding of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) and can support staff in increasing knowledge and understanding of ACE in order to increase support for students.
• Demonstrates trauma informed practice with students, peers/co‑workers, families and community partners.
• Understanding of Growth Mindset and can support staff in increasing knowledge and understanding to increase support for students.
• Experience working with children impacted by poverty.
• Has knowledge and/or experience with co‑teaching.
• Has knowledge and/or experience working in inclusive settings.

• 190‑day contract.
• Salary:
  Current: $52,317–$102,607.
• Stipend: $3,000–$4,000.
• Family medical, dental and vision insurance.
• Life insurance, AD&D, Long‑term disability included (Optional insurances available).
• Sick leave and Personal/Emergency leave.
• JCSD 509‑J pays the employee's share (6%) of the Public Employees Retirement System Contribution.
