Blachly School District #90 is accepting applications for Licensed Substitute Teachers for the purpose of establishing an ongoing pool of candidates.

We are looking for committed, compassionate and positive educators who are ready to make a difference for Blachly students.

Applications are reviewed in the order in which they are received and according to the current needs and requirements of the District. After application review, candidates may receive an email requesting more information, as needed. Therefore, the application process requires that all applicants have an active email address. Qualified candidates will be contacted by BSD Human Resources Department.

Blachly School District may consider applicants if the candidate holds an active Oregon Substitute Teaching License issued by TSPC. Candidates in the Substitute Teacher Pool are not guaranteed employment.

Job

• Valid Oregon teaching license (Basic Teaching, Continuing Teaching, Initial I Teaching, Initial II Teaching, Legacy Teaching, Preliminary Teaching, Professional Teaching, Reciprocal Teaching, Standard Teaching, Substitute Teaching, Restricted Substitute Teaching, Emergency Substitute Teaching (Sponsored by BSD))
• Passed criminal background check

• Lesson planning
• Teaching students
• Managing the classroom
• Performing administrative tasks
• Promoting positive student behavior
• Ensuring safety and security of students

• Experience differentiating practices for diverse populations
• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with diverse students, parents, school district staff and community populations
• Effective communication skills
• Flexibility and willingness to work a varied schedule
• Commitment to cultural competency and respect for diversity, equity and inclusion

• Dressed and groomed in a neat, clean, and appropriate professional manner for the assignment and work setting
• Maintain integrity of confidential information related to students, families, colleagues or district patrons; use or relay personal information only as part of assigned responsibilities and in the best interest of the individuals involved
• Follow all district or supervisor policies, rules, regulations, memos, bulletins, announcements, applicable position descriptions, and reasonable requests by proper authority
• Demonstrate appropriate judgment and professional behavior at all times
• Meet Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC) Standards for Competent and Ethical Educators and District Standards for Performance
