Faculty Status This is a full-time tenure track faculty position represented by the Faculty Forum, not eligible for overtime. The assigned position is 9 months (179 days) per academic year.

The Full-Time Faculty member provides instruction to students in the Education and Early Childhood Education program, directs student discussion and evaluates student performance in the classroom. In addition, this position develops curriculum, assesses student learning, and provides student advising. This position will primarily be located on the Madras campus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide instruction in area of discipline, using approved course outcome guides. Teaching assignments may be during the day (including early morning), evening, or weekend, and could include classes taught at any of the College campuses, online or remotely.
  • Provide course instruction and academic advising in English and Spanish.
  • Provide student advising and assistance in areas of course selection, career planning, and field placement.
  • Be available to students as required by the college.
  • Utilize College tools and resources, including the Learning Management System and Student Accessibility Services, to support teaching activities as appropriate.
  • Participate in program and department meetings, curriculum revision, and assessment projects.
  • Engage in regular professional growth activities and remain current in the field.
  • Provide service to the college and community.
  • Perform other essential job functions as assigned that support the overall objective of the position.

Department Specific

  • Support program needs related to the Madras campus and community
  • Provide second language and first-generation student support as students start and move towards certificate and degree completion.
  • Collaborate with the Education and Early Childhood Education Program Directors to develop and maintain community relationships with school districts and education sites throughout the area for practicum placements.
  • Collaborate with the Education and Early Childhood Education Program Directors to facilitate partnership agreements with programs, such as The Children’s Learning Center, OCDC (Oregon Child Development Coalition), Neighbor Impact – Childcare Resources, Mountain Star, and HDESD (High Desert Education Service District).
  • Coordinate with community partners related to grant-funded initiatives.
  • Participate in Perkins’ and College Now related activities, including course articulation, mentoring, and recruitment among area high schools.
  • Mentor and provide instructional observations for part time faculty in Education and Early Childhood Education programs.
  • Develop presentations and conference sessions at events such as Preview Day and the annual Early Learning Conference of Future Educators Fair.

  • Thorough knowledge in the fields of Education and Early Childhood Education with substantial experience in the early learning years through 3rd grade level and demonstrated ability to apply this knowledge.
