Position Summary And Responsibilities
- Support the instructional program with asynchronous web‑conferencing sessions and synchronous instruction.
- Complete grading, create progress reports, and conduct parent conferences in a timely manner.
- Communicate with parents, students and other teachers regularly to develop and update Personal Learning Plans, score assessments, provide feedback and monitor assignment completion.
- Develop a general knowledge of the entire program’s K‑12 curriculum and detailed knowledge of the grades for which you are responsible.
- Review curriculum and devise alternate approaches to presenting lessons to increase student understanding.
- Support students and parents with alternate strategies and additional assistance with daily assignments and projects.
- Communicate regularly with parents, students, and curriculum specialists via computer and telephone.
- Maintain student records and data, including cumulative files, online student and family information, attendance, and logging of all contacts.
- Consult with other teachers, team members and staff learning specialists to develop enrichment activities and program modifications.
- Coordinate social activities, relevant field trips, and other community activities with other teachers and Parent Community Coordinators.
- Manage regional field trips and integrate them into the curriculum.
- Devise and implement virtual methods of creating and maintaining a “school community”.
- Assist in the organization and administration of state testing as directed.
- Participate in student recruiting sessions and marketing efforts that require teacher representation.
- Attend field trips and community activities implemented for families.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Highly qualified and certified to teach Elementary grades in Oregon.
- Strong technology skills, especially with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Highly organized, punctual, and customer‑focused.
- Flexible, team player with demonstrated ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Willingness to travel for marketing and state testing events (may require occasional overnight travel).
- Ability to work some occasional evening hours as needed to support families.
- Must be able to use a personal electronic device and an email address for two‑step authentication.
