Overview

The VA Southern Oregon Rehabilitation Center & Clinics (VASORCC) in White City, Oregon, is currently looking for full-time, board-eligible psychiatrists to join our Mental Health Service Line team. VASORCC provides primary care, mental health, and psychosocial rehabilitation to 18,000 outpatients and 525 residential Veterans. As a VASORCC Psychiatrist, you will offer patient-centered care through an integrated care team, utilizing an Electronic Health Record system that spans all national VHA facilities.

Ideal candidates will have experience collaborating with multiple disciplines to provide psychopharmacological and behavioral health services. Additionally, psychiatrists will offer telehealth services to other VHA clinics. While board certification is preferred, candidates with comparable qualifications are encouraged to apply. All VASORCC Psychiatrists must obtain a buprenorphine prescribing waiver within three months of hire.

Lead Psychiatrist: You will work closely with the prescribing team across the Behavioral Health Service overseeing the practice of psychiatric prescribing. You will be part of the Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program (BHIP) as well as part of our Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program (RRTP) providing care to Veterans.

VASORCC serves outpatient Veterans throughout southern Oregon and northern California, and residential Veterans primarily from the western US (with 16% from the rest of the nation). Our residential psychosocial rehabilitation program focuses on Veterans dealing with chronic mental illness, substance abuse, and homelessness.

The Rogue Valley offers a mild and sunny climate, with Medford being the largest nearby city. The area is perfect for year-round outdoor activities like hiking, white-water rafting, road and mountain biking, camping, and fishing. Mt. Ashland provides snow sports opportunities such as skiing and snowboarding. The area also boasts rich cultural activities, including the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and the Britt Festival.

Work-Life Balance: Typical work week is 40 hours, Monday-Friday, with a rotating Call Schedule.

You must be a US citizen and hold an unrestricted medical license from any US state, territory, or commonwealth.

Work with state-of-the-art national Integrated Electronic Medical Records (EMR) network.

Your salary will be determined by a Physician Compensation Panel based on your qualifications, education, and experience.

Physicians earn 26 days of paid annual leave in the first year, with the ability to accumulate up to 86 days, plus 13 days of sick leave annually, and 11 federal holidays.
