Construction Superintendent Job Description

The Umpqua Indian Utility Cooperative is proud to announce an exciting job opportunity for a Construction Superintendent. This full-time position provides a dynamic and challenging environment for skilled professionals seeking to contribute to impactful construction projects. This role is vital in directing and ensuring the successful execution of construction activities. Please note, this position is on-site and not eligible for remote work.

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee day-to-day operations on our construction sites. The Superintendent will be responsible for managing all field activities, ensuring that work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards and project specifications. This is a great opportunity to lead significant projects and work within a team-oriented and safety-first culture.

Duties

and Responsibilities
  • Supervise all on-site construction activities and field personnel.
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors, vendors, and material deliveries.
  • Maintain project schedule and update progress reports regularly.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards.
  • Conduct daily safety meetings and job site inspections.
  • Resolve conflicts and issues on-site promptly and professionally.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, architects, engineers, inspectors, and clients.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Track and manage materials, tools, and equipment on site.
  • Document job site activities and maintain accurate field reports.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with building codes and local regulations.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in construction supervision, preferably in residential, commercial, or industrial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, scheduling, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints and construction documents.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel to job sites as needed.
