In this job profile, we offer candidates new to OJD up to the second step of the salary range, depending on experience. You are potentially eligible for a 5% annual increase.
The Jefferson County Circuit Court in Madras, Oregon, is hiring a Jury Coordinator/Receptionist (Court Operations Associate).
In this role, you will process returned jury questionnaires, excuse jurors when appropriate, and answer routine questions from jurors. You will draw grand jury panels, prepare and send grand jury summonses, and prepare the grand jury payroll. Using an approved script, you will provide jury orientation to large groups of people. You will prepare paperwork for judges and attorneys. You will update our prerecorded phone messages and the jury duty information on our webpage.
You will also prepare the courtroom, maintain the jury room, and oversee coffee and meal orders for jurors.
Additionally, you will answer a high volume of phone calls and provide information to attorneys, litigants, and the public about court procedures, the status of cases, and court calendars. You will accept documents filed at the front counter and check them for accuracy and completeness. You will prepare case files, scan legal documents into the electronic case management system, make photocopies, and retrieve archived files.
As our backup cashier, you will determine fees and process payments made at the counter, through the mail, and over the phone. You will prepare the bank deposit and balance the cash drawer. You may also provide support by scheduling mediation sessions, sending hearing notices, and helping customers use the public computer terminals.
Assigned tasks may be changed to accommodate workload and organizational needs.
